Cottesbrooke Infant and Nursery School 2017 Parents’ Questionnaire Analysis

 

In October 2017 parents were asked to complete a questionnaire about their feelings toward the school

There were 174 responses to the questionnaire:

21 from Nursery, 41 from Reception, 48 from Year 1, 38 from Year 2, 26 from unknown

What do you like most about the school?

  • Friendliness of the staff – very approachable.
  • I love how friendly & comforting the teachers are to the pupils & parents.
  • Our children have settled in really quickly & seem comfortable & relaxed around the staff

What do you like most about the school?

  • All parents are well informed of every aspect of their childs progression and well being.
  • Staff are warm and welcoming.
  • Friendly and approachable staff.
  • School staff members have been very good in doing what they do.
  • The atmosphere – bright, friendly and very encouraging.
  • Lovely people, colourful, friendly staff.
  • I like everything about the school. All my children have attended this school since my first child started in 2003. Six of my children have attended this school, and I did not want to send my children anywhere else.
  • The children are encouraged to engage all faiths & identity of the children is promoted & supported.
  • Teachers, education. My son is more than happy here!
  • The school has a friendly atmosphere with a positive ethos.

What do you like most about the school?

  • Friendly and always welcoming.
  • Staff are very helpful.
  • P**** enjoys coming to school and is happy with teacher
  • The teachers are lovely to the children and adults. I am very proud of O*****’s progress in this school and how she’s made friends, she also says everyday that she’s had fun and learnt something new.
  • Everything.
  • I like most about the school that J****** is happy to come school and like and also is learning very well and comeing on well.
  • Mixed ethnicity helps children understand more about each other.
  • Teaching staff do an excellent job.
  • Homework & support
  • We are very happy how well J***** has come on from reception and going back to class from Beehive.

How could we improve the school?

  • Nothing all 4 children have been through the school.
  • …have nothing to improve, I’m happy with my daughter in this school.
  • More challenging home work
  • Lunch – maybe try to get child to eat different ford – my daughter only ever eats cheese sandwiches when lots of hot food is available.       Maybe to encourage them to try other dinners.
  • Update on child progress if any concerns.
  • I’ll have a think.
  • Maybe more afterschool clubs for e.g. swimming, dance, sports to gain confidence. Unfortunately M***** didn’t get a place, she was interested in dance class.

Breakfast club would be good to encourage kids to have breakfast as she struggles in the morning.

  • More notice before assemblies and dress up days.
  • Its perfect.

  • Maybe talk about more healthy foods and so on.

What do you like most about the school?

  • Structure and standard education
  • The environment, friendly staff, clean school.
  • Teachers are very approachable if I have any concerns.
  • Teachers are lovely & very approachable if I need to speak to them.

  • Nothing obvious – hoping the change in school meals encourages O***** to eat better.
  • Through frequent (at least weekly/2 weekly) feedback about child’s academic progress on the aspects he/she is weak.
  • No suggestions present.
  • Advise parents not to park vehicles on double yellow lines AM/PM as this causes concerns when crossing roads with children.
  • Introduce mathaletic’s in school homework.
  • * Have “fun days” like in the juniors.

* My son would have loved to be given a chance to get the ‘job’ on “take-over day”.

* He thinks it would be nice if the school had a trampoline.

  • Better communication with regards to when PE lessons are, lack of information at the start of term.

  • They care a lot.
  • Nice reception class staff always smiling and willing to here of any issues concerning my child.
  • My child enjoys coming to school.
  • Teaching staff & teaching methods.
