🏃 PE
At Cottesbrooke, all children from Reception to Year 2 take part in weekly PE lessons, developing physical skills, coordination, teamwork and a love of being active.
To make things easier for families and staff, we ask that children come to school already dressed in their PE kit on their PE day.
🧥 What to Wear on PE Days
Children should wear:
-
A plain white T-shirt
-
Black or navy shorts, black leggings, or black/grey tracksuit bottoms
-
Their red school jumper or cardigan (optional, for warmth)
-
Black PE pumps (not trainers)
Please avoid jeans, designer sportswear or fashion items, and ensure headscarves are removed for safety.
👟 Footwear
-
Black PE pumps should be worn on PE days
-
Named pumps in a named bag may be left in school for additional PE sessions or activities
🧼 Safety Reminders
To keep everyone safe during physical activity:
-
No jewellery, including earrings
-
Long hair should be tied back
🚶 Daily Mile
In addition to PE lessons, classes are encouraged to take part in the Daily Mile as often as possible. This is a simple, fun way for children to run, jog or walk one mile around the playground — usually done in their regular school uniform.
