🦁⬛🐯 Year 2 at Cottesbrooke

In Year 2, we love to learn, explore new ideas, and challenge ourselves.
It’s our final year at Cottesbrooke, and we’re making the most of it!

This page shares key information to help you support your child’s learning at home, along with a few reminders.

📚 Supporting Your Child at Home

• Book bags are sent home every Friday and should be returned by the following Wednesday or Thursday.

• Inside, you’ll find a:

  • Reading book

  • Phonics book

  • Homework activity

  • Weekly spellings

• Please spend a few minutes each day reading with your child and supporting them with their homework. Little and often makes a big difference!

👕 PE & Art/DT

All Year 2 children have PE and Art/Design & Technology every Wednesday afternoon.
On this day, children should come to school in their PE kit.

PE kit includes:

• A white T-shirt

• Black/navy shorts, leggings or joggers

• Black PE pumps (not trainers)

• School jumper/cardigan (optional over the top)

Please make sure everything is clearly named and that children do not wear jewellery on PE days.

🎒 Homework & Rewards

• Children who return their completed homework on time can earn an extra Dojo!

• Dojos are also given for:

  • Great behaviour

  • Trying hard

  • Showing our CUBS Values

  • Helping others

  • Working well at home and in school
