At Cottesbrooke Infant & Nursery School, safeguarding is at the heart of everything we do.

We are committed to creating a school where all children feel safe, valued, and listened to. Safeguarding is more than just policy — it’s part of our daily culture of care, connection and trust.

Our Safeguarding and Child Protection Policy follows the model provided by the Birmingham Safeguarding Children Partnership (BSCP) and reflects the most up-to-date national guidance, including:

We adapt this model to reflect our own systems and procedures at Cottesbrooke, where we take a trauma-informed, relational approach to safeguarding. This policy works alongside others that support children’s safety and wellbeing, including our:

👥 Safeguarding Is Everyone’s Responsibility

All staff receive regular, high-quality safeguarding training. If anyone has a concern about a child, they report it immediately to our Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) or one of our Deputy DSLs.

We also work closely with families and external agencies to ensure every child receives the right support, at the right time.
